FORMER OLYMPIC RUNNER TO VISIT NB

New Balance Fox Valley in Appleton will host an elite athlete and U.S. Olympic runner, Bill Rodgers, on Friday, June 10th from 11am until 1pm.

Rodgers was a member of the 1976 U.S. Olympic team. He holds master national records for the 8K, 15K and half marathon for the 45-49 age group.

Rodgers is one of many elite athletes competing in the 2011 Bellin Run in Green Bay. His first Bellin Run in 1978 helped confirm the event as one of the nation’s marquee races. He took first place in that event.

Customers and community members will have the opportunity to meet Rodgers, ask questions and provide words of encouragement before his participation in the 2011 Bellin Run on Saturday, June 11th. New Balance Fox Valley is located on Casaloma Drive in Trasino Village (between Fox Cities Stadium and Fox River Mall).
 
New Balance Fox Valley is a proud sponsor of the Bellin Run, a 10K held annually in Green Bay. The Bellin Run has grown to become one of the largest 10K races in the nation. The first Bellin Run was held on June 12, 1977 with 881 participants. In 2010, the event drew a record number 18,398 participants.

Frequently Asked Questions (about safety footwear)

Q. What is the difference in length between a men's size 10 and a men's size 10.5?
A. The difference between a half size is about a sixth of an inch. It may not sound like a lot, but it could be the difference between toes rubbing against a safety toe or fitting comfortably.

 Q. It's okay to wear my safety shoes outside of work for everyday use... right?
A. It is recommended that footwear "rest" between uses. This "rest" allows built-in cushion to get some of it's spring back... which means your footwear will feel better for longer. The "rest" also allows moisture to dry creating a healthier environment for your feet. Plus, the more hours you wear the shoe, the shorter the life of the product. To get the most out of your safety footwear we suggest wearing them at work only.

Q. Can my shoe size really change? I've worn a men's size 12 my entire life!
A. Yes. Shoe size can change over time because your feet can change (due to injury, weight gain/loss, pregnancy). It is also important to keep in mind that different brands or styles fit different. We recommend trying on footwear and walking around the store (or shoemobile) before you make a purchase. You can also wear the product at home on a clean surface to assure for proper fit before wearing the product to work or outdoors.

Q. Can I add an insole on top of what is already in my shoe?
A. Adding an insole for cushion or support can lenghten the life of any footwear, but you should always remove the current insole before you add a new one. Putting two insoles on top of each other will compromise the fit and support of your footwear. It can also raise the heel significantly, which will push the foot toward the front of the shoe and into the safety toe.

This 6" external metguard is made of black leather and moisture wicking nylon mesh. It features a removable EVA cushion insole with sponge. The safety toe is made of steel.

GREEN BAY, WI (JANUARY 19, 2011) – Vanderloop Shoes Inc is happy to announce the grand opening of Red Wing Shoe Store in Green Bay. The store was created from the history and tradition of the Red Wing brand and Vanderloop Shoes Inc.

“Red Wing Shoe Company has been a leader in the footwear industry for over 100 years and we plan to continue offering exceptional service, fit and great quality products with every shopping experience,” explains Wes Thies, Vice President, North American Sales and Operations.

Based in Red Wing, MN, Red Wing Shoe Company offers a unique blend of quality, tradition, comfort and style. Product lines range from traditional work boots that have been the staple of skilled workers for the past century to outdoor footwear.

Red Wing Shoes and Vanderloop Shoes believe in the importance of one-on-one customer service.
