LITTLE CHUTE, WI (AUGUST 24, 2010) – Vanderloop Shoes has raised $450 for Old Glory Honor Flight, a program that is devoted to transporting local WWII Veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.

Paper flags are still being sold at Vanderloop Shoes stores in Little Chute and Green Bay and New Balance Fox Valley (owned and operated by Vanderloop Shoes Inc). Flags are available in $1 and $5 increments and include room for names or personal messages.

The goal of the program was to raise money and awareness for programs like Old Glory Honor Flight that assist local veterans.

“Many of our customers are veterans or have family that have served or are currently serving,” said Vanderloop Shoes – Green Bay store manager Rebecca Jacobs. “We have had a great response and some very touching stories have been shared.”

All money donated to Old Glory Honor Flight will stay with the local Northeast Wisconsin chapter, which operates out of Appleton.

Old Glory Honor Flights provides WWII Veterans with a one-day tour of the memorials in Washington D.C. including the World War II Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
